Up and down the country there are very special people totally dedicated to providing excellent care for their elderly residents. Gone are the days when being a carer was a job you did if you couldn?t find anything else. I was ?just? a carer for many years and am now an Activity Coordinator in a beautiful care home in Dorset. All of these poems are based on my experiences of working in care and the people I have met on the way.

The author of this book, Jan Millward is very talented and I hope she continues to write and publish more books of her poems. For me this is a very important book because it really hits home as my Grandpa was in a care facility and my husband had ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease).My daughter and I took care of my husband, her dad here at home until his last day which was 7 months ago today. I bought this book and it has really touched me in deeply in so many ways and today I am especially reminded of one poem titled "He's Gone".
This is a very important book for me because while reading this it i’ve realized it’s helping me to find understanding, comfort and healing through it's poems and that's saying a lot.
This book is helping me through the most difficult time in my life.
This is a book I would buy several copies of just to give out to friends and family going through the death of a loved one and the grief process and In my opinion this book should be mandatorily given out to all families with loved ones in care facilities, hospice facilities and home hospice to help prepare them and to provide comfort to them during the most difficult times of their lives and to help them through the grieving process.
I wish our home hospice had give us a copy of this book to help prepare us for the inevitable and I am so very glad it's available now, everyone should read it.
I don't often write book reviews but I did for this book because I think it's a very important book and people need to know about it and read it.
I also wish this book was available on Kindle as I feel it may get worn out from being read so often.
